Case Study: Product Design |
Generally, the development of a new product follows a very predictable path of evolution; beginning first with the conceptual exploration, followed by the technical development, and finalized by production and delivery. In this case study, we'll outline the development process of the Coolwell Air-Nozzle; a sub-project of the Coolwell G2 Personal Climate Control.
Through close collaboration with course executives, PGA pros, and repeat players, we are able to develop a very well defined-tree of objectives. Applying the IdeaWorks I.D.E.A.S. approach allows us to then deliver an elegant solution that meets every one of their requirements.

| Exploring Potential Solutions | ![]() |
Once we define the project requirements, we begin exploring unique "blue sky" solutions to the user's needs.
Generally, several potential designs are selected for further exploration and comparison. |

Using Shop Mock-ups and/or rapid prototypes, we then construct mockups of several preferred concepts. These concept models provide an effective means to gather honest, hands-on feedback from unbiased users. |

| Refining the Design | ![]() |
The feedback gained from the concept model review provides designers with enough data to optimize a final concept prior to moving into the CAD development stages. |
